Putty shs
In text processing, Unicode takes putty shs the role of providing a unique code point—a number, not a glyph—for each character.
For example, if an estimate of how long it takes to break an encryption scheme is one thousand years, and it were used to encrypt your credit card details, they would be safe enough, putty shs since the time needed to decrypt the details will be rather longer than the useful life of those details, which expire after a few years.

You can try to combat this by telling PuTTY to send keepalives: packets of data which have no effect on the actual session, but which reassure the router or firewall that the network putty shs connection is still active and worth remembering about.

Then you can mail the PuTTY maintainers and tell us ‘I wanted the putty shs F1 key to send ^[[11~, but instead it's sending ^[OP, can this be done?
